Wedlocked by Mel Teshco will hijack your free time, your heart rate, and probably your sleep schedule.
Alright, babes. Let me hit you with a truth bomb right out the gate:
If you’re even slightly into mafia romance, drop whatever you’re reading, cancel your plans, pour a glass of wine (or three), and dive into Wedlocked by Mel Teshco. I’m not kidding—this book is a ride. And not the cute, flirty rom-com rollercoaster kind. I’m talking dark, fast, unhinged, sexy-as-sin mafia drama that will have you clutching your Kindle like it owes you money.
This book? Chaos in the best way possible.
Our girl Sabrina is just trying to get some intel. You know, do a little sneaking around the Agostino mafia family—casual espionage things. But then? Boom. She gets caught. Not by some random guard. Not by a low-level thug.
No, no. She gets caught by Ethan Freaking Agostino—Don of the family, certified psychopath, and hot enough to make bad decisions look like great life choices.
And just like that, she goes from “spy” to “bride” because what else do you do when you catch your family’s enemy snooping? Apparently, you marry her to keep her close and possibly kill her later. Obviously.
Look, I didn’t write the rules. I’m just here to enjoy the chaos.
Let’s talk about Ethan, because… wow. This man is unhinged. He is not your book-boyfriend. He is not soft, or tender, or emotionally available.
He’s dangerous. Ice cold. Calculated. He has that “I’ve killed men for blinking too slowly” energy, and yet? We want him anyway.
Why?
Because under all that darkness and dead-eyed intensity is a man obsessed. And I mean obsessed with Sabrina in the way that has you texting your friends, “Okay, so technically this is toxic but also… he might kill for her?”
Ethan isn’t here to make you feel safe. He’s here to make you feel everything. And when that obsession starts bleeding into genuine feelings he doesn’t know how to handle? Oh girl, it is DELICIOUS.
Sabrina could’ve easily been the helpless, wide-eyed heroine—but nope. She’s smart, suspicious of everything, and constantly calculating her next move.
She’s not afraid to go toe-to-toe with Ethan, even when she’s one wrong word away from becoming a mafia cautionary tale. Honestly? I respected the hell out of her. She knows she’s in deep, she knows the stakes, and yet she still finds ways to push back, play the game, and maybe even turn the tables.
Watching her navigate this twisted world with her head held high had me rooting for her so hard. And the way she slowly (and I do mean slowly) starts to realize that maybe—just maybe—she's not as powerless as she thinks? Iconic behaviour.
Also: she might be in mortal danger, but that doesn’t stop her from having chemistry so intense with Ethan it could set a crime scene on fire. Priorities.
Let me be clear: this is a dark romance. Like, capital-D, emotionally damaging, morally grey dark. There are power plays, forced proximity, control issues, and a whole lot of messy feelings that neither character knows how to deal with.
But that’s what makes it so addictive.
It’s messy and twisted and totally unhinged—but you can’t look away. Ethan and Sabrina’s relationship is a battlefield. One minute you’re screaming “RUN, GIRL!” and the next you’re like, “Okay but when are they going to kiss??”
It’s giving:
“I want to kill you.”
“Too bad, I want to kiss you.”
“Fine, but I’ll probably kill you later.”
“Cool, but make out with me first.”
Unhinged. Obsessive. Iconic.
Just when you think things are settling down, bam—Mel Teshco hits you with another plot twist, another reveal, another heart-stopping moment that has you throwing your book across the room (lovingly, of course).
I went into this thinking I’d get a fun, spicy mafia story. I stayed up until 3 a.m. because I needed to know what Ethan was going to do next. The secrets. The betrayals. The double-crosses. It’s giving Godfather meets Fifty Shades of Trauma and I was INTO IT.
I’m sorry, but something about a morally bankrupt man in a suit who looks at you like you’re both his salvation and his destruction? Unmatched.
Yes, it’s wildly unrealistic. Yes, we would run in the opposite direction IRL. But that’s the magic of mafia romance. It gives us danger, obsession, intensity—with just enough emotional damage to keep us turning the pages like feral little romance gremlins.
And Wedlocked? It’s got all of it.
Listen, I don’t know what you were planning to do tonight—but cancel it. This book will devour your evening. Wedlocked is dark, sexy, dramatic, and absolutely insane in the best way. It’s like a car crash you can’t stop watching… except the car is a Lamborghini, the crash is emotionally charged, and the driver is a mafia Don who might be in love.
If you like:
One-bed-but-make-it-deadly tension
Power plays and psychological warfare (with kisses)
Mafia lords who shouldn’t be hot but absolutely are
Women who don’t take crap from dangerous men…then Wedlocked is waiting to ruin your life.
And you’re gonna thank it for it.
Rating: 11/10 Obsession. Would fake-marry a mafia boss again.
Spice Level: Dangerously HOT
Emotional Damage: High, but worth it
Recommendation: Do not read in public unless you’re prepared to blush violently
You’ve been warned.
Now go read it and then text me when you get to that scene. You’ll know the one.
Happy spiralling!!
